Finding free computers for individuals, schools or communities
Have a disability? Do you work with people who have disabilities? Is your school looking for affordable and/or free computers? The following organizations can help you find new or used computer equipment, and software at no cost.
Jim Mullen Foundation (JMF) gives away free computers to people who have disabilities with the Computer Giveaway program. To request a free computer, download the Computer Giveaway Application form available at www.jimmullen.com. Inform them about your situation and they will try to hook you up with a free computer and maybe even some adaptive hardware & software.
Also check out The Computer Recycling Center (CRC) which takes in used computers and in turn donates them to public schools, educators, and non-profit groups via their Computers and Education program. You can apply for free computers by filling out the Public School or Nonprofit form that is found at www.crc.org. Good luck!
Also, check out The Beaumont Foundation of America which grants free computers to underserved individuals in the US. You can check to see if you are eligble with the guidelines here: www.bmtfoundation.com
